I — OUR PURPOSE
Time for Peace was founded on a simple conviction:
Humanity is not something we inherit once and for all. It is something each generation must rediscover, nurture and pass on.
In a world increasingly shaped by division, violence, indifference and isolation, art and culture can remind us of what connects us as human beings.
Through cinema, music, visual art, storytelling and new forms of creative experience, Time for Peace seeks to create spaces where dignity, empathy, understanding and peace can continue to grow.
We do not tell people what to think.
We create opportunities to feel, discover, question and understand.
For younger generations in particular, Time for Peace seeks not only to open horizons, but to awaken the desire to take part.
Through films, artists, human stories and initiatives that translate conviction into action, young people can discover that they too have the capacity to shape the world around them.
The purpose is not to tell them which cause to embrace, but to help them discover that their own lives can carry meaning beyond themselves.
II — OUR MISSION
Since its creation in New York in 1994 by Marion and Robert Einbeck, Time for Peace has brought together artists, filmmakers, musicians, cultural figures and people from different countries and generations around a shared humanistic purpose.
Today, that mission continues through complementary initiatives:
- The Time for Peace Film & Music Awards recognizing artistic works that carry humanistic values.
- The Time for Peace Screen Portal bringing meaningful films and audiovisual works to new audiences and future generations, while opening pathways for dialogue, reflection and educational initiatives.
- Time for Peace Serenity exploring how art, color, light, music and immersive experiences can create spaces more attentive to the human being.
- The Time for Peace Collector Magazine bringing together stories, artists, places and voices that illuminate our shared humanity.

III — WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in the freedom of artists.
We believe that humanistic values can emerge from an artist’s vision without limiting the artist’s freedom to question, disturb, challenge or reveal.
We believe that humanism cannot be imposed.
For Time for Peace, humanism begins with a simple recognition: beyond our differences, every human being possesses a dignity that deserves to be seen, respected and protected.
We believe that peace begins with our capacity to recognize the humanity of another person.
We believe that stories can cross borders where arguments cannot.
We believe that young people need more than information. They need horizons.
They need to encounter artists, stories and people whose lives and actions reveal how many different paths can give meaning to a life — paths shaped not only by personal achievement, but by
responsibility, imagination and contribution to others.
Time for Peace does not seek to provide them with ready-made ideals.
It seeks to help awaken the sense of possibility that may already exist within them.
An encounter with a film, an artist, an act of courage, a scientific discovery, an environmental initiative or a human story can sometimes become the beginning of something larger.
The spectator can become a participant. The participant can become an initiator. And, in time, an example for others.
And we believe that what has been built must be transmitted.
Time for Peace belongs not only to its history, but to those who will carry its spirit forward.
IV — A LIVING COMMUNITY
Time for Peace is not intended to become a closed institution.
It is a living international community of artists, cultural figures, educators, institutions, partners and individuals who believe that art and culture can help preserve what is profoundly human within us.
At the heart of this community, the Time for Peace Artistic Circle of Humanist Voices brings together established and emerging artists whose work reflects a natural sensitivity to human dignity, freedom and our shared humanity.
The Circle is not a committee and asks for no prescribed position or political alignment. Each artist remains entirely free. Some may simply lend their name as a sign of affinity; others may share a reflection, introduce an artist or a work that has moved them, or take part in a Time for Peace initiative.
What brings these Voices together is not ideology, but a shared belief in the capacity of art to illuminate rather than divide, to deepen rather than polarize.
Some may contribute through their work.
Others through ideas, knowledge, partnerships or support.
Others simply by helping these stories travel further.
There are many ways to become part of the journey.
V — THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
Time for Peace began in New York more than thirty years ago.
Its forms have changed. Its purpose has not.
Today, new technologies, new generations and new ways of experiencing culture offer Time for Peace the possibility of carrying its mission much further.
What we create today is intended to outlive us.
To travel. To be transmitted. And to continue reminding future generations of something both fragile and essential:
what it means to be human.

We welcome artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers, scientists, educators, cultural institutions, companies and individuals whose work, ideas or initiatives resonate with the humanistic values we seek to share.
